The Taurus car is a brand under Ford. Here is some information about Ford: 1. Introduction: Ford (Ford Motor Company) is one of the world's most renowned automobile companies and a brand under the American Ford Motor Company, founded in 1903 and headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. 2. History: In 1913, Ford Motor Company developed the world's first assembly line, a groundbreaking innovation that enabled the production of 15 million Model T cars, setting an unprecedented world record. 3. Development: On February 4, 1922, Ford acquired the Lincoln brand. On December 1, 1989, it acquired Jaguar Cars. On January 28, 1999, Ford purchased Volvo's global car business. On June 2, 2021, Ford was ranked 21st on the Fortune 500 list of the largest American companies.

When I was researching cars to buy back then, I looked into this Ford sedan. To be precise, the Taurus is a mid-to-large-sized sedan under the Ford brand, known as the Taurus in English. It's particularly famous in the North American market and is considered one of Ford's flagship products. Later, it was localized by Changan Ford. This car is positioned half a level above the Mondeo, catering to both business and family needs, with ample space and excellent comfort. My colleague drives a 2019 Taurus, and he says the chassis feels as solid as a European car, providing exceptional stability at high speeds, with particularly outstanding noise insulation. The currently available version in China is the late fourth-generation model, equipped with a 2.0T engine paired with an 8AT transmission across the lineup. However, I heard that Changan Ford has discontinued this product line, so if you want one, you'll have to look for a used one.

Last time I accompanied a friend to a Ford 4S dealership to look at cars, I spotted a vehicle with a Taurus badge in the corner of the showroom. The salesperson said it was the Taurus. The front grille of this car is much wider than the Mondeo's, and sitting in the back, I felt there was ample legroom to comfortably cross my legs. The salesperson mentioned that its positioning is close to the Buick LaCrosse, and it features a rotary gear shift knob which is quite unique. What impressed me the most was the rear center armrest, equipped with multimedia control buttons and seat adjustment functions, offering much higher configurations than ordinary B-segment cars. However, the salesperson also admitted that there aren't many cars in stock now, as the manufacturer is mainly pushing SUVs.

The name "Taurus" was first used by Ford for a model launched in 1986. The version introduced in China is the mid-cycle facelift of the fifth generation. It shares the CD4 platform with the Mondeo but has a wheelbase nearly 100mm longer, equivalent to a half-class size advantage. Standard SYNC+ infotainment system supports voice control, and the hands-free trunk feature is practical for family users. I'm most impressed by its B&O sound system - the 14-speaker setup delivers stunning performance for symphonic music. However, the 2.0T engine's fuel consumption reaches around 11L/100km in city driving, and it's a pity the hybrid version wasn't introduced.
