First point: Depress the clutch and brake, then slowly maneuver the car out of the parking space. When the right front corner of the hood aligns with the roadside curb (this is the first point), continue moving forward. Second point: As you proceed forward, when the left one-third section of the hood coincides with the yellow line (this is the second point), turn the steering wheel one full rotation to the right. This allows the vehicle to navigate around the corner of the parking space and exit. Once the car body aligns parallel with the road direction, straighten the wheels by turning left and exit the parallel parking test area. Key considerations during exit: 1. During the exit process: Maintain proper clutch control throughout the parallel parking exit procedure. Keep the speed slow but avoid stopping midway. 2. Steering wheel operation: The timing of steering wheel turns must be precise, as missing the correct moment can easily lead to crossing the line.

When exiting a parking spot, two key positions are crucial to watch. First, observe the bumper of the rear car in the side mirror. When your shoulder just passes the front of the adjacent car, turn the steering wheel fully to the left (or to the right if the parking spot is on the right side). This ensures the wheels just clear the neighboring car. Then, as the car moves diagonally outward, focus on another point: when the left front corner of the car is about to touch the curb line (or when the front of the car is about half a meter from the curb), immediately straighten the steering wheel and continue moving slowly. Once the front of the car almost fills the lane ahead, turn the wheel to the right to smoothly exit. Throughout the process, don’t rush—maintain a speed just above idle.

When teaching my wife how to park, I always emphasize two key points. The first is that the driver's shoulder should pass the B-pillar of the adjacent car before turning the steering wheel. This ensures the rear wheels won't scrape the curb when the car swings out. The second is to watch the lower left corner of the windshield - when it's about to touch the highest point of the curb ahead (approximately 15 cm away), immediately straighten the steering wheel. Then let the car roll forward about half a meter before slowly turning the wheel in the opposite direction to adjust the car's position. For beginners who aren't confident about the angles, it's better to make a couple more forward-backward adjustments than to force a turn and risk scratching the alloy wheels, as repairing them can be quite costly.

Driving school instructors have taught some practical old-school tricks. Before exiting the parking space, first check the rearview mirror: when your entire vehicle body completely clears the rear of the adjacent car, swiftly turn the steering wheel toward the exit direction. After the front of the car swings to a 45-degree angle, immediately focus on the relationship between the front edge of the hood and the curb—when the right front corner of the hood covers about two-thirds of the curb (approximately 30 cm), quickly turn the steering wheel back. At this point, the car body will be aligned. Then, move forward a bit to create space before turning out, and remember to keep the rearview mirrors unfolded throughout the entire process.
