No penalty is imposed for exceeding the speed limit by less than 10%. Exceeding the speed limit by more than 10% but less than 20% will result in 3 demerit points; exceeding the speed limit by more than 20% but less than 30% will result in a fine and 6 demerit points. Exceeding the speed limit by more than 50% but less than 70% will result in a fine, 12 demerit points, and may also lead to the revocation of the driver's license.
