It's been almost a year since I started driving the 4th generation Emgrand. Every time I park, I can't help but notice its well-proportioned body. With a length of 4638mm and a particularly noticeable width of 1820mm, the shoulder room is much more generous than the Santana in the same price range when seating five people. The height of 1460mm combined with a 2650mm wheelbase means that even with the front seats adjusted, my 180cm frame can still cross legs comfortably in the back. The trunk can practically fit three 24-inch suitcases. By the way, the new model is 10mm lower but 31mm wider than the old one, making the steering feel more stable when parking, and it can easily fit into those 2-meter-wide mechanical parking spaces in underground garages in one go.

Last month, I accompanied a friend to a 4S dealership to check out the Emgrand. The salesperson gestured at the vehicle dimensions for us: 4638mm in length and 1820mm in width, making it 4cm narrower but more elongated than the Lavida. I specifically tried sitting in the back seat—the 2650mm wheelbase left two fists' space between my knees and the front seat, with four fingers' clearance above my head at 1460mm height. The salesperson mentioned the low-slung design was for reducing drag, but the steep rear window angle means child seats might slightly obstruct the view. Personally, I'd say this size is just right for a family of three, with no trouble fitting a stroller in the trunk for school runs.

Repair shops often see Emgrand accident vehicles, and I remember this car's dimensions particularly well. Its measurements are 4638×1820×1460mm with a 2650mm wheelbase, featuring a short front overhang and long rear overhang. During sheet metal work, it was found that the front crumple zone provides 15cm more buffer space than same-class vehicles, while the 1820mm width utilizes dual-layer anti-collision beams. Some customers complain about the low height, but the 1460mm height combined with wide wheel tracks actually results in much less cornering body roll compared to a Corolla. When loading luggage, be careful not to exceed 500kg as the chassis will noticeably sag.

My neighbor bought a new Emgrand and parks it next to my car every day. I specifically measured its dimensions: with a length of 4638mm, it perfectly fills the parking space in our community, 3cm shorter than my Sylphy but with a more advantageous width of 1820mm. The most practical feature is its 2650mm wheelbase—last time I helped him move, we managed to fit a 1.8-meter-long ladder in the back with the rear seats folded down. The height of 1460mm is slightly low, so ladies wearing skirts should be careful when getting out. These dimensions make it a space magician among compact cars, and I heard it weighs only around 1.2 tons.

After driving a ride-hailing car for three years and completing hundreds of trips with the Emgrand, passengers often praise the spacious back seats. The car's 4638mm length paired with a 2650mm wheelbase is indeed impressive, and the 1820mm width comfortably seats three without feeling cramped. However, the 1460mm height leaves limited headroom. I remember once picking up a basketball team—the 1.9-meter-tall guy had to tilt his head to get in. Compared to its peers, the Emgrand is 4cm wider than the Excelle and has a 5cm longer wheelbase than the Bora. The latest model now has a 1502mm track width, making it much more stable on rough roads.

What are the causes of high water temperature?

Water temperature is high due to: 1. Insufficient antifreeze in the engine cooling system; 2. A faulty thermostat causing excessively high water temperature; 3. Abnormal operation of the cooling fan, leading to poor heat dissipation of the coolant; 4. Malfunctioning water pump, causing it to rotate improperly; 5. Engine oil entering the radiator. The solutions for excessively high car water temperature are: 1. Pull over to the roadside; 2. Cover the radiator cap with a wet cloth folded several times, then slightly unscrew the cap to allow steam to escape slowly; 3. Monitor the dashboard water temperature gauge, and after the radiator pressure drops, add cold water or antifreeze.

What are the causes of overheating water temperature?

The causes of overheating water temperature are: 1. Insufficient antifreeze; 2. Leakage at various pipe connections; 3. Blockage due to prolonged use of the radiator; 4. Damage to the engine's cylinder gasket, allowing water to mix with the engine oil; 5. Breakage of the water pump belt or damage to the water pump; 6. The fan not working, preventing the engine water temperature from decreasing. Solutions for overheating water temperature: 1. Idle the vehicle, open the hood, turn on the heater to dissipate heat as quickly as possible, and park in a shaded area; 2. Check if the coolant is sufficient; 3. Check if the cooling fan is functioning properly. If the fan is stuck or the fuse is blown, it can be resolved by disconnecting the power supply.
