I've driven quite a few cars, and I feel the biggest difference between the Mercedes-Benz G63 and G500 lies in performance. The G63 is the AMG high-performance version with an incredibly powerful engine, terrifyingly fast acceleration, and delivers an exhilarating driving experience like a race car. Its suspension is tuned to be very stiff, providing stability in corners but making speed bumps quite jarring. The base G500 is more subdued, with adequate power for daily use and better comfort for long-distance driving. Exterior-wise, the G63 features AMG-exclusive front grille and quad exhaust pipes, giving it a more aggressive look. The price difference is significant, with the G63 costing several hundred thousand more. Overall, the G63 suits thrill-seekers, while the G500 is more practical and user-friendly for average drivers. Also, be prepared for higher fuel consumption with the G63—you'll need to budget more for gas.

As a car owner, I pay more attention to daily usability. The G500 drives much smoother, with quieter engine noise and suspension that's neither too soft nor too hard, making the ride comfortable without much bumpiness—perfect for commuting to work. The G63 has powerful performance, but the constant roaring sound gets annoying over time, and fuel consumption spikes in city traffic, burning more gas per 100 kilometers. Both have luxurious and beautiful interiors, but the G500 is simpler and more comfortable, while the G63 adds sporty elements like more bolstered seats. Maintenance costs are higher for the G63, with more expensive parts. Both offer equally spacious interiors and strong off-road capabilities. I think the G500 is more suitable for families or commuting—it's cost-effective and worry-free, yet still packs plenty of power. In the long run, the G63 seems like a waste of fuel.

Why Does the Car Jerk When Downshifting?

The reason a car jerks when downshifting is due to a mismatch between the engine speed and the current vehicle speed, meaning there is a difference in rotational speed between the engine and the clutch disc (in most cases, the engine speed is lower than the clutch disc speed). The engine serves as both a power generation device and can refer to the entire machine, including the power unit (such as gasoline engines, aircraft engines). Engine types include internal combustion engines (e.g., gasoline engines), external combustion engines (e.g., Stirling engines, steam engines), gas turbines (used in racing cars), and electric motors. The clutch is located within the flywheel housing between the engine and the transmission, secured to the rear plane of the flywheel with screws. The output shaft of the clutch is the input shaft of the transmission.
