Is the Geely Boyue equipped with a full-size spare tire?

Geely Boyue is not equipped with a full-size spare tire. The spare tire of Geely Boyue is stored inside the luggage compartment, located beneath the onboard tool kit. To access it, lift the luggage compartment liner and hang the liner handle on the drainage channel, then remove the onboard tool kit and loosen the spare tire locking knob to take out the spare tire. Geely Boyue is an SUV model under Geely Auto Group, featuring numerous intelligent configurations such as a voice interaction system, urban pre-collision system, intelligent high beam, and PM air management system. In terms of suspension, this vehicle adopts a MacPherson strut independent suspension at the front and a multi-link independent suspension at the rear.
Last year when I drove my Boyue to Tibet, I specifically researched the spare tire issue. Most configurations of the Geely Boyue do come with a full-size spare tire, identical to the other four tires. Especially in my top-tier 4WD version, lifting the trunk floor reveals a complete 18-inch spare tire. However, I heard that the newer Asian Games Edition released in recent years switched to a non-full-size spare to reduce weight, so I suggest you check the actual size by opening the trunk. Having a full-size spare is incredibly reassuring for long trips—when I had a flat tire on the plateau, I could immediately replace it and drive at 120 km/h. With a smaller spare, you'd be limited to crawling at 80 km/h.
As a frequent visitor to auto repair shops, I often remove and install the spare tire for the Geely Boyue. Most models of this car come with a full-size spare tire configuration. You can easily tell by checking if the numerical parameters on the tire match those of the other wheels. The advantage of a full-size spare tire is that there's no speed restriction, though it does sacrifice about 5 cm in storage depth. For rear-wheel-drive versions, the spare tire is externally mounted due to the chassis structure. Here's a little-known fact: the Boyue's spare tire compartment is just the right size to fit a full-size tire—if you switch to a smaller one, it might rattle. Remember to regularly check the tire pressure of your spare tire; I've seen many people unaware that their spare was flat.
When accompanying a friend to pick up the Boyue, I specifically checked the spare tire compartment. The salesperson mentioned that except for the base model, all other trims come with a full-size spare tire—the wheel design might differ, but the size specifications are identical. The issue of full-size tires occupying more space is indeed present, with the trunk floor sitting noticeably higher than in sedans. Some owners opt to switch to a non-full-size spare to free up space, though I wouldn't recommend it. Last month, a modified Boyue had a tire blowout on the highway; the compact spare caused the vehicle to veer, nearly leading to an accident. The OEM design surely has its rationale.
