Is DiDi D1 Express or Premier?

DiDi D1 custom vehicle was initially categorized under the Express service before being separated later. Currently, D1 has evolved into a standalone model with pricing positioned between Express and Premier, closely resembling DiDi Youxiang. Here’s how to book a DiDi D1: Although DiDi D1 operates as a standalone model, the booking process is similar to Express. After confirming the location, you simply select the D1 option from the vehicle choices. Enter "DiDi Chuxing" in the search bar (magnifying glass icon) at the top right of the WeChat homepage and click to access the ride-hailing mini-program. On the homepage, enable your phone’s location services to automatically set your pickup point. If inaccurate, you can manually input it. Then, enter your destination in the address field below. After filling in the details, the system will estimate the fare based on distance, duration, and pricing models for different vehicle types. Passengers can then select "DiDi Custom Vehicle" from the list and tap "Confirm Booking for DiDi Custom Vehicle" to wait for a driver to accept the ride. Note: DiDi D1 drivers cannot accept carpool or discounted rides and must operate within designated areas, which may offer incentives. Additionally, D1 drivers primarily accept D1 orders but can take Express orders if D1 demand is low.
I often see the DiDi D1 categorized under the Express service. I frequently use DiDi, and when selecting Express on the app, the D1 model often appears. It was co-designed with BYD, offering spacious interiors and energy efficiency at a much lower price than the Premium service. Premium cars, such as BMW or Lexus, provide more private services at higher costs. The D1 is designed for standardized, economical travel, specifically tailored for Express drivers—for example, featuring an electric sliding door on the right for easy passenger access and enhanced safety features. When using DiDi, selecting the Express option makes it easy to get a D1, whereas Premium services generally do not use this model.
