If your vehicle requires polishing, it is essential to have it done at a professional maintenance shop, and it is recommended not to perform polishing too frequently. Vehicles driven outdoors for extended periods are exposed to wind and rain, inevitably leading to various damages that can make the surface appear dull. Proper polishing can help improve this condition. 1. Wash the entire vehicle: Use a high-detergent paint cleaner to wash the entire car. When applying the cleaner, avoid allowing particulate dust to cause new scratches during the grinding process. 2. Sand with water sandpaper: For defects such as coarse particles, fine sandpaper marks, or flow marks on the paint surface, gently sand the area with 600#~1000# water sandpaper wrapped around a small rubber block until smooth (be careful not to grind through the paint layer). 3. Coarse and fine grinding: Use a mechanical grinder (electric or pneumatic) with coarse polishing compound to grind away the marks left by the water sandpaper, followed by fine polishing with polishing compound. 4. Polishing: Use a mechanical polisher with a mirror-finish treatment agent to remove swirl marks left by the coarse polishing compound, achieving a mirror-like polish effect on the paint film. 5. Manual waxing: After grinding and polishing, clean off the polishing compound and immediately apply finishing wax with a cotton cloth to all polished areas. Then, use a dry cotton cloth to remove any excess wax, leaving the paint surface mirror-like and brilliantly shiny.
