Volkswagen Magotan's smart key contains a hidden mechanical key. Press the hidden button on the left side of the metal cover on the key. The mechanical key will pop out. Insert the key into the door keyhole and turn it to the left to unlock the door. In terms of overall design, the new Magotan appears more elongated and sophisticated. The R&D team decided to specifically develop a long-wheelbase version of the new Magotan for the Chinese market.
The Volkswagen Magotan's key usage is actually quite simple. After driving this car for three years, I can operate it blindfolded now. For the traditional key version, just insert it into the lock cylinder on the right side of the steering wheel, press the brake pedal, and turn clockwise all the way to start. When parking, turn counterclockwise all the way to shut off the engine and remove the key. The newer Magotan models come with a more convenient smart key - just keep the key in your pocket without taking it out, press the start button next to the gear shift while holding the brake pedal to ignite the engine. The remote key has four buttons: locking and unlocking are basic functions, press and hold the trunk button for three seconds to automatically open it, and there's a separate car-finder button that triggers flashing lights and honking when pressed. Don't panic if the key battery dies - you can use the emergency mechanical key blade to open the door, and for starting, just place the key against the push-to-start button for sensor recognition.
The key functions of the Volkswagen Magotan are quite practical. When I first picked up the car, the salesperson taught me the complete set of operations. To lock and unlock the car, just press the button with the lock icon on the key. Holding the unlock button for three seconds can also automatically lower the windows for ventilation. If you can't find your car in the parking lot, pressing the horn button twice will make the lights flash and the horn sound. To remotely open the trunk, hold the dedicated button until the lid is fully raised.
