On the back of the steering wheel, locate the windshield wiper control lever. The "O" position is the off position for the wiper. Push the lever up one position for a single wipe action. Push the lever down one position for the intermittent wiper mode, where the middle knob can adjust the interval time. Push the lever down two positions for the low-speed wiper mode, and push it down three positions for the high-speed wiper mode. Pull the lever back one position to activate the front wiper washer.

When using my Corolla, I found the wiper operation super simple. The wiper control stalk is on the right side of the steering wheel—pulling it downward switches to low-speed wiping, and pushing it down again shifts to high-speed, perfect for heavy rain. Pushing it upward activates intermittent mode, which automatically adjusts speed based on rainfall. Pushing it all the way up sprays washer fluid while the wipers activate to clean the windshield. I often use intermittent mode in light drizzles—it saves power and avoids excessive wiping. Remember, never wipe a dry windshield, as it can damage the wiper blades. Also, in winter, check for ice buildup before using the wipers to prevent motor damage. Make it a habit to inspect the wiper blades every quarter to ensure the rubber hasn’t cracked or aged, keeping your view clear and driving safer. Over years of driving, these small details have made rainy-day drives worry-free.

What does the restorable status of a revoked driver's license mean?

When a driver's license status shows as "revoked but restorable," it refers to situations where the motor vehicle driver's license has been expired for more than one year without renewal, or the revocation period does not exceed two years. The driver can regain driving eligibility after passing the road traffic safety laws, regulations, and relevant knowledge examination. Details are as follows: 1. For motor vehicle drivers during their probation period: If they accumulate 12 penalty points for traffic safety violations, their probationary driving qualification for the permitted vehicle type will be revoked. If the revoked driving qualification is not for the highest permitted vehicle type, their highest permitted vehicle type driving qualification should also be revoked according to the provisions of Article 78, Paragraph 1. 2. For drivers holding licenses for large buses or tractor-trailers: If they accumulate 6 or more but less than 12 penalty points during the one-year probation period, their probation period will be extended by one year. If they again accumulate 6 or more but less than 12 penalty points during the extended probation period, their probationary driving qualification for the permitted vehicle type will be revoked.

Does coasting in neutral gear save fuel?

Coasting in neutral gear does not save fuel. The fuel injection volume of a car is controlled by the onboard computer based on the vehicle's operating trajectory and state. Therefore, when coasting in neutral, the computer interprets it as idling and continues to inject fuel. Below are some fuel-saving tips: 1. Control RPM: During operation, a car's fuel consumption can be managed by monitoring the tachometer. For most fuel-injected engines, maintaining RPM between 2200 and 2500 is optimal for fuel efficiency, avoiding excessive fuel waste. 2. Maintain steady speed: Driving at a constant speed in a straight line consumes less fuel. For small-displacement cars, speeds between 60-80 km/h are most fuel-efficient, while medium-displacement cars perform best at 80-100 km/h. The vehicle's optimal fuel-efficient speed is usually indicated in the maintenance manual, which drivers can reference to save fuel. 3. Gentle acceleration: Whether driving a manual or automatic transmission, always start gently by gradually pressing the accelerator pedal and slowly increasing speed. Shift gears appropriately by listening to the engine sound to maximize fuel utilization.

How often is the A2 driver's license reviewed?

A2 driver's license regulations stipulate an annual review. If there are no demerit points recorded within a year, the annual review is waived. However, if points are deducted, an annual review is required, and a medical examination certificate must be submitted for the review. The following are details about the annual review: 1. New regulations for motor vehicle driver's license review: The driver's license does not require an annual review; it should be renewed according to the new regulations upon expiration. 2. For driver's licenses valid for 6 years: The renewal and review processes have been delegated from the municipal vehicle management office to county (district, city) level vehicle management offices. For individuals driving with a license that has exceeded the review validity period, the public security traffic police department will not penalize them. However, for drivers who fail to renew their licenses for more than one year after expiration, their licenses will be revoked. 3. For drivers aged 60 and above: An annual physical examination is required, and the results must be submitted to the county-level vehicle management office after the scoring cycle (initial license issuance date). Failure to provide the examination results for over a year will result in the revocation of the motor vehicle driver's license.

Is the fuel consumption high for a newly purchased car?

Newly purchased cars generally have higher fuel consumption, which is common for almost every vehicle. When a car leaves the factory, due to machining precision of parts and assembly errors, it requires a certain mileage for running-in. During this break-in period, the car tends to consume more fuel, and you may feel a lack of power. Precautions for car break-in: Avoid overloading. During the break-in period, the load should not exceed 75% of the rated capacity. New cars should carry less than the specified weight and number of passengers, and overloading must be avoided. Do not drive at high speeds. There are speed limits for new cars during the break-in period. Generally, domestic cars should stay within 40~70 km/h, while imported cars should not exceed 100 km/h. Ensure the engine speed and vehicle speed operate at moderate levels. Typically, the engine speed during the break-in period should be between 2000~4000 rpm. Use high-quality gasoline. The gasoline used during the break-in period should not be of a lower grade than the manufacturer's specified standard. Do not add anti-wear additives, as this may result in insufficient break-in even after reaching the required mileage.
