Honestly, just keep it on "Auto" if your car has it—it’s one less thing to worry about. If not, make a habit of turning the knob to the low beam symbol as soon as you start the car, day or night. You’ll be more visible. The big thing everyone messes up is high beams. If you see red taillights or white headlights, flip them off. It’s just common sense. Blinding someone is a good way to cause an accident. Also, if it’s raining hard enough that you need your wipers on, your headlights should be on too. It’s the law in most places.
