How to Turn on the High Beam on a BYD?

Enter the driver's cabin to locate the light control lever on the left side of the steering wheel. Turn the left knob upward to the highest position, which is the headlight setting. Pull the light lever backward for a single high beam flash. Push the light lever forward to keep the high beam on continuously.
When driving a BYD car, I found that turning on the high beams is actually quite simple. Usually, there's a control lever on the left side of the steering wheel—just push it forward to activate the high beams, and pull it back to turn them off. This method works for most BYD models, like the Song or Han, and is especially useful at night on highways or rural roads, as it illuminates the road farther ahead. However, remember not to keep them on all the time. Switch back to low beams when there’s oncoming traffic or sufficient lighting ahead, as prolonged use can dazzle other drivers and pose a danger. Additionally, BYD’s lighting system is quite intelligent and sometimes supports automatic switching modes—you can check the settings, but manual operation is the most straightforward. For new drivers, practice makes perfect. It took me some time to get used to it at first, but after a few drives, it becomes second nature.
