Methods to turn off the car's wiper: For knob-type adjustment, simply rotate the wiper adjustment knob to the OFF position to turn off the wiper; For lever-type, push the lever upwards, and the wiper starts working. Release the lever, and it automatically returns to its original position, turning off the wiper and stopping its operation immediately. The wiper switch for most cars is located on the steering column to the lower right of the steering wheel. The wiper is a blade structure installed in front of the windshield, consisting of a motor, reducer, four-bar linkage, wiper arm spindle, wiper blade assembly, etc. Its main function is to clear rain, snow, and dust on the windshield that obstruct the view.
Turning off the wipers is actually quite simple, and I often do it while driving. Most cars have a lever on the right side of the steering wheel. Pushing it all the way up or down will turn them off, with intermittent and slow/fast settings in between. I turn them off when temporarily parked in the rain or when the rain is light—it saves the wiper blades and makes driving quieter. Some high-end cars have a rain sensor switch on the dashboard, requiring a manual press to deactivate the auto function. Remember, don’t turn them off when it’s pouring—blurry visibility is dangerous. I usually turn them off a few seconds before parking to prevent motor wear from idling. Also, if the lever doesn’t turn them off, it might be a switch or fuse issue—get it checked promptly.
