How to Transfer a Motorcycle with License Plate?

Buyers and sellers should bring the vehicle license, registration certificate, and ID cards of both parties to the local used car trading market to pay the used car transaction tax. Both parties should bring all documents to the traffic management office where the motorcycle is registered to complete the motor vehicle transfer procedures, including rubbing the frame number, taking photos, etc. These services are not charged additionally. If it is an out-of-town transfer, the buyer must first go to the traffic management office where they want to register to obtain a transfer notice. This step is mandatory, and the subsequent procedures are the same as for local transfers.
When transferring a motorcycle with its license plate, both the buyer and seller must go to the vehicle management office together to complete the procedures. Prepare in advance the original and photocopies of both parties' ID cards, the motorcycle's license, and the vehicle registration certificate. Also, make sure the vehicle has no outstanding traffic violations, otherwise the transfer cannot be processed. The vehicle management office will first check the vehicle's condition, such as matching the frame number and engine number. If everything is fine, fill out the transfer form and pay a small fee—usually ranging from tens to over a hundred yuan. After completion, the buyer will receive a new license, and the original plate can continue to be used. After the transfer, I remind the buyer not to forget to update the insurance or purchase a new policy. The whole process takes about one to two hours if everything goes smoothly. It's better to go with a friend who knows the place to avoid long queues.
