How to test after ETC installation?

When the staff installs the ETC device for you, they will activate it. The activation process is essentially a test for signal reception. If the activation is successful, it indicates normal signal transmission and proper functionality in ETC lanes. Regarding how to test ETC signal reception, since general users lack specialized signal testing equipment, the simplest method is to drive the vehicle into an ETC lane at a speed below 20km/h. If the sensing distance is between 8-10 meters, it signifies good signal strength. ETC working principle: Through dedicated short-range communication between the onboard electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield and the microwave antenna in the toll station's ETC lane, the system utilizes computer networking technology to conduct background settlement processing with banks. This enables vehicles to pass through highway or bridge toll stations without stopping while automatically paying the required fees. ETC installation positions: For small vehicles like cars and minivans, the ETC card and OBU device should be installed in the upper-middle section of the front windshield. For large vehicles such as trucks and buses, the installation position is in the lower-middle section.
