How to Start and Shift Gears on a 125cc Motorcycle?

Ignite the engine, pull the clutch tightly with your left hand, adjust the left foot pedal to neutral gear, take two steps forward while sitting on the bike—if there's no stutter, it's in neutral. Pull the clutch tightly with your left hand, tap with the tip of your left foot to shift up to first gear, release the left-hand clutch while slowly accelerating with your right hand. For braking, first pull the clutch tightly and then apply the brake with your right hand. While pulling the clutch tightly, tap forward with the tip of your left foot to shift up one gear, or tap backward with your heel to shift down one gear.
When I first rode a 125cc motorcycle, I was quite nervous during takeoff. Sitting on the bike, I pressed down the rear wheel brake with my left foot, started the engine with my right hand, then pulled the clutch lever all the way in with my left hand, and shifted into first gear with my right foot. Slowly twisting the throttle with my right hand to add gas while gently releasing the clutch to the friction point, I felt the bike start to move and then stabilized the throttle while continuing to release the clutch. Shifting gears was also simple: when the bike accelerated to about 20-30 mph, I pulled back the clutch, shifted into second gear, then released the clutch and added throttle to move forward. After practicing a few times, I got the hang of it. It's okay to stall at first—just find an open space to practice more, and remember to wear a helmet and stay safe.
