How to Shift Gears in a Volkswagen Sagitar?

In the "D" gear position, press the brake pedal and then push the handle to the right to switch to manual mode. When going uphill, more power is needed, so you should use "D-" to downshift the vehicle and obtain higher torque for climbing. Some slopes are not very steep, and if the gear is too low, it will waste power. In such cases, use "D+" to upshift in time. If the power is still insufficient, you can use the S gear (Sport mode). When going downhill, it is recommended to use "D+" to upshift. Use gear 3 for gentle slopes and gear 2 for steep slopes to protect the brake pads from premature wear.
Driving the Sagitar with an automatic transmission is quite simple. I usually press the brake pedal before shifting gears. After starting the car, if you want to move forward, shift the gear lever from P to D, then press the accelerator to go. When reversing, make sure the car has come to a complete stop before shifting to R gear. Never randomly move the gear lever while driving, especially shifting to P gear while the car is moving, as it can damage the transmission. If the red light lasts more than 30 seconds, I shift to N gear and pull the handbrake; for shorter stops, I just keep it in D gear and press the brake. The S gear is for sport mode, which provides more power for overtaking, but it consumes more fuel. When shifting gears, pay attention to the current gear displayed on the dashboard, and don’t force the gear lever.
