Above the center console on the roof inside the car, there is a sunshade switch. Manually toggle the switch and press it twice to close the sunshade. When the vehicle is in the off state, long-press the lock button to automatically close the sunroof. My Tiguan has been running for five or six years, and the sunshade getting stuck is a common issue. Here's how to fix it: First, close the sunroof and sunshade completely. Locate the up/down button on the overhead control panel, then press and hold the tilt-up position without releasing for about 15 seconds until you hear a click or see it move—that means the reset is successful. Make sure the car key is turned to the second position to power on; otherwise, the system won’t recognize it. After resetting, test the opening and closing a few times to check for smoothness. If it still doesn’t work, dust buildup in the tracks might be the culprit, requiring cleaning. Or, if the motor is sluggish, it’s best to have it checked at a shop. Personally, I spray lubricant on the tracks every couple of months to prevent dust and jamming, making it more hassle-free. Don’t rush to spend money on repairs for such minor issues—handling it yourself can save a lot of trouble.
