How to reset the maintenance reminder on a Ford Focus?

First, press the vehicle's one-touch start button to start the engine; otherwise, the maintenance light cannot be reset. Continuously press the SET button on the left side of the multifunction steering wheel until you hear a beep sound. Press the OK button on the right side of the multifunction steering wheel to cancel the maintenance reminder and reset the maintenance light.
As a long-time Focus owner with years of experience, I've dealt with the maintenance reminder several times. The reset procedure is straightforward: First, sit in the driver's seat and turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine. Then locate the TRIP or ODO button near the steering wheel and press and hold it. Maintain this for about 5 seconds until you see the maintenance light turn off or a reset menu appear on the dashboard - just confirm to complete the process. Don't ignore this alert; it's reminding you to change oil or get inspections. It flashes approximately every 5,000 km. Regular maintenance keeps your car durable and safe. This method worked for my 2018 model - newer versions might require adjustment through the infotainment settings. If steps are incorrect, the reminder will persist; always consult the manual or visit a dealership to check for wiring issues.
