How to Replace the Key Battery for Honda Elysion?

Press the buckle and first remove the mechanical key. Locate the position of the key buckle. Keep the front side facing upwards, and hold both ends of the key with your fingers. Use your other hand to forcefully pry open the gap between the key parts until the key is opened. During installation, remove the depleted battery from inside the key, then insert the newly purchased battery of the same model into the battery slot.
I previously replaced the key battery for my Elysion, and it was quite simple. That time, the remote wasn't working well—I had to press the button several times to unlock the door—so I knew it was time for a replacement. First, I checked online and found that the key typically uses a CR2032 coin battery, which costs just a few bucks at a convenience store. When opening the key, I used a small screwdriver or a coin to carefully pry open the shell from the gap, making sure not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the plastic clips. Inside, the old battery was right there—I gently removed it, inserted the new battery with the positive side facing up, and then snapped the shell back into place, aligning it properly. The whole process took less than five minutes, and after testing, the remote worked like new. I recommend keeping a spare battery in the car so you can replace it anytime if you get a low-battery warning. Key batteries usually last one to two years before needing replacement—don’t wait until they’re completely dead to avoid trouble when locking the car.
