The steps to replace the Crown steering gear are as follows: 1. Lift the vehicle on a lift platform. Loosen the dust cover of the power steering gear input shaft and remove the nut from the steering column clamp bolt; 2. Remove the clamp from the clamp bolt, take out the fastening bolt, release the steering column from the power steering gear input shaft, and remove the front wheels; 3. Remove the steering tie rod ball joint. Remove the two bolts and safety washers that secure the front subframe center to the body and discard them. Take out the two front subframe support rods; 4. Lower the rear part of the front subframe. Place a container to collect any spilled fluid; 5. Remove the two bolts that secure the power steering gear return pipe to the front subframe; 6. Disconnect the power steering gear supply pipe and discard the sealing washer; 7. Install the new steering gear and sealing washer.
