How to Replace the Brake Pads on a Xuantu?
1 Answers
Remove the tire to expose the brake drum. Use a hammer to tap the surface of the brake drum to loosen it before removing it. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap of the spring and pry upwards to remove the return spring. Use pliers to remove the bolts securing the brake pads. Each wheel has two brake pads (front and rear) and two securing bolts. Remove the locating pins from the old brake pads and install them on the new ones. Once both sides are assembled, install them onto the brake caliper. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pull the ratchet of the self-adjusting mechanism outward to lower the handbrake. Pulling the handbrake will improve braking performance, but avoid adjusting it too tightly.
