Replacement method for the air filter of Volkswagen Bora: 1. Open the glove box, remove the four screws on the baffle, and take off the baffle; 2. Locate the air filter, noting that there are two buckles on it. Loosen the buckles to gently pull out the old air filter, then install the new one. After a period of use, the activated carbon filtration function of the air filter will diminish, so it needs to be replaced regularly. The Volkswagen Bora is a compact car under FAW-Volkswagen. Taking the Bora 2021 200TSI DSG Comfort Intelligent Connected Edition as an example, its body dimensions are 4663mm in length, 1815mm in width, and 1462mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2688mm. The body adopts a 4-door, 5-seater sedan structure, with a fuel tank capacity of 50 liters and a curb weight of 1320kg.

I replaced the cabin air filter for my family's Bora by myself, which is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. Open the glove compartment and squeeze both sides inward to let it hang down. There's a plastic cover at the very back; just gently pry the clips to remove it. The old filter was inserted horizontally and can be pulled straight out. When inserting the new filter, make sure the arrow points toward the rear of the car to avoid incorrect installation that could affect filtration. If it feels a bit stuck during installation, wiggle the filter to unfold the pleats. After everything is installed, don’t close the cover immediately—start the engine, turn the AC to maximum airflow for a minute, and ensure there are no unusual noises before resetting the glove compartment. The whole job takes about 20 minutes. Buying a Mann or Mahle filter costs around 30-50 yuan, saving half compared to going to a 4S shop.

Let me teach you how to replace the Bora's cabin air filter. Lie on the floor of the passenger side and look up at the bottom of the glove box. There are two limiters on each side—pinch and rotate them 90 degrees. This will allow the glove box to lie completely flat, revealing a rectangular cover with a grid at the back. Use a key to pry open the three plastic clips, and then pull the filter out horizontally like pulling a tissue from a box. Remember, the arrow on the side of the new filter should point toward the driver's seat—don’t make the same mistake I did last time by installing it backward, which reduced airflow. Push the filter in completely until it’s flush with the frame, otherwise, dust may leak through. It’s recommended to replace it annually before summer, especially in northern areas with heavy willow catkin seasons—if the filter gets clogged, turning on the AC may produce a musty smell.

Just changed the air filter for my 2018 Bora last week. First, empty the glove compartment, then press both sides inward while pulling it down. See the black plastic cover behind? There's a small clip at the top-left corner—use your fingernail to pop it open. Remember to take a photo of the old filter's orientation before removing it. Compare it with the new activated carbon filter you bought before installation. Be careful not to tear the filter paper edges on the slots. After installation, the cover should click into place. Bring a bottle of hand sanitizer when doing it yourself, as dust may fall during removal. Wiping the blower fan blades is also a good idea. It's best to choose OEM-coded filters or Bosch-manufactured ones, as aftermarket filters may have inaccurate dimensions and cause rattling noises.

What are the reasons for the Magotan not accelerating?

Car stepping on the accelerator but not accelerating may be due to the following reasons: Carbon deposit issue: Carbon deposit can be considered a common problem in cars. As the car is used, the interior may accumulate sludge or other dirt due to incomplete combustion, which can adhere to components and cause the engine to stall during operation. Road condition reasons: Apart from internal components, the reason for the car's inability to accelerate may also be related to road conditions. For example, driving on congested roads with frequent acceleration and deceleration can affect the car's components, preventing them from rotating promptly and resulting in the inability to accelerate and weak starting conditions.

In which provinces is ethanol gasoline used?

Ethanol gasoline is currently used in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Henan, Anhui, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hebei, Shandong, Tianjin, and Guangdong. The rational use of ethanol gasoline can provide more power for vehicles while also reducing emissions and minimizing carbon deposits. When using ethanol gasoline for the first time, it is recommended to thoroughly clean the fuel tank and fuel system, and also check for any sediment or water accumulation at the bottom of the tank. Ethanol gasoline is hydrophilic, and if the water content in the fuel exceeds the standard, it not only affects the normal operation of the engine but also shortens its service life.

Does Not Turning Off the Engine While Refueling Damage the Car?

Generally, not turning off the engine while refueling does not harm the car, but it poses certain safety hazards. The vehicle's electrical equipment remains operational, and the engine runs at high temperatures. If there is any electrical leakage, it may easily trigger a fire. When refueling your car, always remember to turn off the engine and power. Only restart the engine and drive after refueling is completed and the fuel tank cap is securely closed. While the engine is running, the car's exhaust continuously emits fumes, often accompanied by sparks, which can also threaten the safety of the gas station. When refueling, as the concentration of fuel vapor increases to a certain level, any spark generated by the running engine could ignite and cause an explosion.

What is the diagnostic method for oxygen sensor failure?

The diagnostic method for oxygen sensor failure is: 1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature; 2. Connect the negative probe of the multimeter's voltage range to the E1 terminal in the fault detection socket or the negative terminal of the battery, and connect the positive probe to the OX1 or OX2 terminal in the fault detection socket or the output wire on the oxygen sensor harness connector; 3. Keep the engine running at 2500 rpm and check if the voltmeter needle swings between 0 and 1V, recording the number of swings within 10 seconds; 4. Check if the oxygen sensor is damaged; 5. Inspect the appearance color of the oxygen sensor.
