How to Repair a Dented Groove on a Car Door?

Align the traction pad coated with hot melt glue to the center of the dent and press it gently with your hand. After 3 to 5 minutes, align the center hole of the pull bridge with the shaft of the traction pad and set it in place. Apply even force to pull out the pad, gradually lifting the dent. First, clean the dented area thoroughly. Then, load the special glue into the glue gun and plug it in to preheat for about 7 minutes. For larger dents, use larger pads. Apply the melted glue evenly on the pad with the glue gun, quickly attach it to the dented area, and press gently until the special glue sets firmly before releasing.
Previously, I had a dent on my car door and used a DIY method to fix it: first, I cleaned the surface thoroughly and evenly heated the dented area with a heat gun for a few minutes to soften the metal. Then, I took a can of compressed air, turned it upside down, and sprayed it on the heated spot to rapidly cool it, causing the metal to contract and pop out. This trick works well for shallow dents, and the tools are affordable—just a few dozen RMB on Taobao. If you don’t have compressed air, try using a suction cup—attach a strong suction cup and pull hard to restore the shape. Be careful not to heat for too long to avoid damaging the paint. After the repair, inspect the area to ensure no marks are left, as they could lead to rust, especially in rainy areas. I recommend this method—it’s simple, convenient, and can be done yourself, but it’s only suitable for small dents. For major issues, it’s better to go to a professional auto repair shop. Regular maintenance of car doors is also important to avoid similar problems.
