How to Properly Use the Electronic Parking Brake in the 2021 Corolla?

Enable the auto-hold function. When waiting at a traffic light or during a brief stop, the auto-hold will automatically engage the parking brake once the car comes to a complete stop. When the driver does not need to operate the vehicle and requires a prolonged stop, simply pull the electronic parking brake button once to engage it, and press it again to release.
When I first drove this car, I was worried that the electronic parking brake might be difficult to use, especially since I was used to the lever in older models. However, it turned out to be quite simple to operate. After parking and turning off the engine, just press the electronic parking brake button on the center console, and it will automatically lock the tires to prevent rolling. When driving, fasten your seatbelt, press the brake pedal, and lightly step on the accelerator—it will automatically release, which is especially helpful when starting on a slope to prevent rolling back. If you prefer not to use the automatic release, you can also manually operate it: press the brake pedal first and then press the button. For safety, always ensure the car is parked on level ground or in 'P' mode before activating the electronic parking brake to prevent movement in case of an electronic system failure. I recommend beginners practice a few more times to fully adapt.
