How to Properly Operate a Corolla Automatic Transmission?
1 Answers
When preparing to drive, start the car by pressing the brake pedal, ensure the gear lever is in the D (Drive) position of the automatic transmission, fully release the handbrake, and then gently press the accelerator. When ascending an incline, shift to 3rd or 2nd gear to obtain greater power output. For parking on a slope or for extended periods, use the P (Park) position to ensure the vehicle is completely stationary. Note: Engage the P position only after turning off the engine. Always ensure correct operation. Since the D (Drive) position in an automatic transmission does not provide engine braking, avoid keeping the car in D position continuously.
