Remove the rubber plugs from the adjustment inspection hole and gap inspection hole on the protective plate; check the gap between the brake shoe and brake drum, adjust the nut state - tighten clockwise and loosen counterclockwise. Use a flashlight to observe the position of the adjustment side bolt, and use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the external teeth of the adjustment bolt to reduce the gap between the brake shoe and brake drum. The gap between the caliper, brake disc, and brake drum is mostly self-adjusting and does not require manual adjustment.

What does the DS gear mean in an automatic transmission car?

D gear is the drive gear, also known as the forward gear, used when moving forward. S stands for Sport mode. When this gear is engaged, the transmission can shift freely, but the shift timing is delayed, keeping the engine at high RPM for a period to increase the car's power. Generally, automatic transmission cars have six gear positions from top to bottom: P, R, N, D, S, L. Here are the details: 1. P gear: Parking gear, used when the vehicle is parked and not in use. The wheels are mechanically locked to prevent rolling. 2. R gear: Reverse gear, used when reversing. 3. N gear: Neutral gear, used for temporary stops (e.g., at a red light). Note that this gear indicates neutral, and to prevent the vehicle from rolling on a slope, the brake must be applied. 4. L gear: Low gear. When going downhill or on a long slope, engaging this gear limits the car to the lowest gear (equivalent to first gear in a manual transmission car), allowing the engine to assist in braking, reducing the need for prolonged brake use and preventing brake overheating and potential hazards.

Which Material is Better for Spark Plugs?

Spark plugs made of precious metals are better. The spark plug is a crucial component in the ignition system of a gasoline engine. It introduces high-voltage electricity into the combustion chamber, causing it to jump across the electrode gap and generate a spark, thereby igniting the combustible air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. The spark plug mainly consists of a terminal nut, insulator, terminal stud, center electrode, side electrode, and shell. The main types of spark plugs include: standard spark plugs, extended insulator spark plugs, electrode-type spark plugs, seat-type spark plugs, pole-type spark plugs, and surface-gap spark plugs. Under high voltage, the air between the center electrode and the side electrode of the spark plug rapidly ionizes, forming positively charged ions and negatively charged free electrons. When the voltage between the electrodes reaches a certain level, the number of ions and electrons in the gas increases like an avalanche, causing the air to lose its insulating properties and forming a discharge channel in the gap, resulting in a "breakdown" phenomenon. At this point, the gas becomes a luminous body, known as a "spark." Along with the heat expansion, a "snapping" sound is produced. The temperature of this electric spark can reach 2000–3000°C, which is sufficient to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder's combustion chamber.

What are the advantages of a Torsen differential?

Advantages are as follows: 1. Advantage one: The Torsen differential achieves constant and continuous torque control management. It operates continuously without any time delay, yet it does not interfere with the adjustment of total torque output, thus eliminating any torque loss. Compared to traction control and vehicle stability control systems, it offers greater superiority. Since it lacks the multi-plate clutches found in traditional self-locking differentials, there is no wear and tear, making it maintenance-free. The purely mechanical LSD boasts excellent reliability. 2. Advantage two: The Torsen differential can be matched with any transmission or transfer case and is compatible with other vehicle safety control systems such as ABS, TCS (Traction Control Systems), and SCS (Stability Control Systems). The Torsen differential is a purely mechanical structure that activates the moment a wheel begins to slip, featuring a linear locking characteristic. 3. Advantage three: The Torsen limited-slip differential is a fully automatic, purely mechanical limited-slip differential that is highly reliable, durable, and quick to respond. From certain perspectives, it represents a very balanced design. It can respond to torque differences between drive wheels in a very short time, adjusting torque output to address wheel differential issues. Moreover, its locking characteristic is highly linear and can be adjusted over a relatively wide torque range without being limited by the structural space of the differential housing, thus maximizing its effectiveness.
