OBU is installed by directly attaching it to the small black dots at the top of the front windshield. OBU is a microwave device that uses DSRC technology to communicate with RSU. The function of OBU is to use DSRC technology to establish a microwave communication link with RSU, enabling vehicle identification and electronic toll collection without stopping the vehicle, thus creating an unattended vehicle passage. OBU consists of two parts: the host and peripherals. The host includes motherboard components, video components, differential GPS components, GPRS module, WLAN card, power supply, amplifier, heat sink, casing, and wiring harness.
