If 12 points are deducted from a driver's license, the following steps should be taken: Motor vehicle drivers who accumulate 12 points within a scoring cycle must report to the traffic management department of the public security authority at the place where the driver's license was issued or where the violation occurred within 15 days. They are required to undergo seven days of education on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge, and then take an exam. Situations that result in 12 points being deducted from a driver's license include: 1. Driving a motor vehicle that does not match the permitted vehicle type; 2. Driving under the influence of alcohol; 3. Operating a commercial passenger vehicle (excluding buses) or school bus carrying more than 20% over the approved capacity; 4. Fleeing the scene of a traffic accident without constituting a crime; 5. Driving a motor vehicle on the road without displaying a license plate, or intentionally obscuring, damaging, or not installing the license plate as required; 6. Using forged or altered motor vehicle license plates, registration certificates, driver's licenses, school bus signs, or using other vehicles' license plates or registration certificates; 7. Driving a motor vehicle in reverse, against traffic, or making a U-turn across the central divider on a highway; 8. Parking a commercial passenger vehicle in a highway lane; 9. Driving a medium-sized or larger passenger or cargo vehicle, school bus, or hazardous material transport vehicle at speeds exceeding 20% over the limit on highways or urban expressways, or exceeding 50% over the limit on other roads, or driving any other vehicle at speeds exceeding 50% over the limit; 10. Driving a medium-sized or larger passenger vehicle or hazardous material transport vehicle continuously for more than 4 hours without stopping to rest or resting for less than 20 minutes; 11.
