How to fold down the rear seats of a Civic?

First, remove the rear seat safety belts, then pull the luggage compartment release lever to unlock and fold down the seats. Grasp both sides of the headrest and move it upwards until you feel it lock in place. To lower the headrest, press the side buttons while moving it down, then release once it reaches the desired position.
Every time I take my Civic camping, I fold down the rear seats to fit the tent. The method is super simple: usually, there are two small handles or buttons at the top of the rear seats near the sides. Just pull or press them, and the seatbacks will fold forward. For older models, you might need to apply a bit more force, while newer models often have electric controls that do the job with a single press. Before folding, it's best to check that there are no obstructions around the seats, such as child seat latches, which should be cleared. Once folded, the trunk space immediately expands, making it easy to fit even a bicycle. A quick reminder: after folding, make sure to push the seats back into place until you hear a click to lock them, otherwise, they might wobble dangerously while driving. I often use this trick when moving, saving me the hassle of renting a truck.
