How to Disable the Engine Immobilizer?
2 Answers
First, press the brake pedal in the vehicle's cockpit, then press the one-touch start button to power on the vehicle. Next, press the RES button on the left side of the multifunction steering wheel, and hold down the OK button on the right side of the multifunction steering wheel until you hear a beep, then release. Shift the gear selector to D (Drive) to deactivate the immobilizer.
Just encountered the engine immobilizer activating, what a hassle! Last time my car did this too, try these three steps: first, calmly wait for 30 seconds as some cars will deactivate on their own; if that doesn't work, try restarting with the spare key; the final trick is to disconnect the negative battery terminal for five minutes to reset the system. Remember to check if the key battery has power - mine locked precisely because the battery was drained. But be warned, disconnecting power might erase radio presets and other settings. If it's still not resolved after these steps, you'll really need to visit the dealership - they have specialized diagnostic tools to reprogram the key.
