How to correctly insert the card into a car's ETC?

ETC cards have two sides - the side with the chip is the front side. Insert the card into the OBU device slot with the front side facing the car window. Where ETC can be installed: For small vehicles like cars and minivans, the OBU device should be installed on the upper middle part of the front windshield. For large vehicles like trucks and buses, it should be installed on the lower middle part. ETC installation position requirements: The height should be no less than 1.2 meters and no more than 2.5 meters; The installation angle N should be between 30º and 90º (the angle between the electronic tag surface and the horizontal plane). The ETC installation process is as follows: First check if the ETC card and electronic tag (OBU) are damaged when you receive the device. Press the anti-tamper button on the back of OBU, the red light will briefly turn on, and the OLED screen will display "Tag Invalid" and "Please Insert Card", indicating the device is normal. Clean the front windshield to keep the glass surface smooth, clean and dry. Then peel off the OBU adhesive backing film and stick it to the installation position. Press firmly with your hand for 2-3 minutes to remove air bubbles. Insert the ETC card with the front side facing the driver and the back side facing the front glass. The chip part should be inserted into the OBU device.
From my years of driving experience, the placement of the car's ETC card is actually quite particular. First, stick the ETC device on the windshield near the rearview mirror position, clean the glass before attaching it to ensure it sticks firmly and doesn't fall off. The card should be inserted into the slot with the front side facing outward; if it's inserted backward, it won't be recognized, and the signal will be messed up. Some people stick it in the wrong place, like the lower left corner of the front window, where metal can block the signal, making the card useless. Also, make sure the device doesn't obstruct your view to avoid distractions while driving. Before driving daily, it's best to take a quick glance to ensure the card is securely inserted, otherwise, it would be embarrassing if the toll gate doesn't lift on the highway. Keeping the card slot clean is key; if there's too much dust causing poor contact, gently wipe it with a cotton swab a few times.
