How to Check the Tire Pressure Monitoring on Trumpchi GS4?

The tire pressure monitoring on the Trumpchi GS4 can be viewed on the dashboard. The vehicle comes equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system that automatically alerts you without requiring manual operation. If the tire pressure light comes on and needs to be reset, it will automatically turn off after driving a certain distance if the tire pressure sensor hasn't been replaced. Tire Pressure Reset Method: First, turn on the ignition, then press and hold the tire pressure monitoring reset button until you hear a "ding" sound before releasing it. The tire pressure monitoring system will then store the current normal tire pressure data, automatically clear the previous data, and finally, the dashboard warning light will turn off, completing the tire pressure reset. There are three common types of tire pressure monitoring methods: Direct Tire Pressure Monitoring: Direct tire pressure monitoring devices use pressure sensors installed in each tire to directly measure the tire pressure. The pressure information is transmitted wirelessly from inside the tire to a central receiver module, which then displays the tire pressure data for each tire. The system automatically alerts you when the tire pressure is too low or if there is a leak. Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring: When the pressure in a tire decreases, the vehicle's weight causes the rolling radius of that tire to become smaller, making it rotate faster than the other wheels. By comparing the differences in rotational speed between the tires, the system monitors the tire pressure. Indirect tire pressure alert systems essentially rely on calculating the rolling radius of the tires to monitor pressure. Introduction to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): This system combines the advantages of the two aforementioned systems. It installs direct sensors in two diagonally opposite tires and includes a four-wheel indirect system. Compared to a full direct system, this hybrid system can reduce costs and overcome the limitation of indirect systems, which cannot detect when multiple tires simultaneously have low pressure. However, it still cannot provide real-time data on the actual pressure in all four tires like a direct system can.
As an owner of the Trumpchi GS4 for nearly three years, I know how to conveniently check the tire pressure. After starting the engine, use the directional buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to press twice and switch to the vehicle information menu. Then, scroll with the up and down buttons to find the tire pressure display option, and the screen will pop up the pressure values for each tire. If the tire pressure is too low or too high, the system automatically lights up a red warning light and beeps. It's a good habit to glance at it before driving in the morning to ensure safety. Especially in summer when the weather is hot, tire pressure tends to rise, and in winter when it gets cold, it may drop. It's recommended to manually check with a tire pressure gauge once a week. The normal value is indicated on the label on the door pillar, and maintaining it around 220kPa saves fuel and prevents tire blowouts. If the alarm goes off, stop immediately and check for punctures or leaks. Regular tire maintenance can also extend their lifespan.
