How to Apply Car Rain Guards?

Clean the rearview mirror thoroughly and wet it with water. The rain guard film for rearview mirrors has excellent hydrophobic properties, effectively preventing rainwater from adhering. Peel off the adhesive side of the waterproof film and apply it to the center of the rearview mirror. High-quality films offer excellent clarity and also feature waterproof and anti-fog functions. Simply remove the surface layer. When installing the rearview mirror rain guard film, incorrect application or improper placement with trapped air bubbles can impair rearview visibility.
Last time I applied the rain repellent film myself, the whole process took about an hour. First, I gathered all the necessary tools: a squeegee, spray bottle, utility knife, and specialized cleaner. I chose a slightly curved rain repellent film because it fits the curvature of car windows better than flat ones. Before application, the glass must be thoroughly cleaned—I wiped it three times with cleaner, then used alcohol to remove grease, ensuring no dust particles remained. Next, I sprayed plenty of soapy water on the glass, peeled off the backing of the film, and aligned it in position. At this stage, the film can still be adjusted by sliding it. Once aligned, I immediately used the squeegee to push out water from the center toward the edges. When squeegeeing, apply force at a 45-degree angle to remove all water and bubbles. Finally, trim off the excess film along the glass edge. A reminder: avoid washing the car or opening the windows for 24 hours after application to let the film adhere completely.
