How to Adjust Spark Plug Gap?
1 Answers
Methods for adjusting spark plug gap: 1. Clean debris and dust around the spark plug on the cylinder head, use a special socket to unscrew the spark plug, and remove carbon deposits around the electrodes with fine sandpaper; 2. Use a specialized gauge and pliers to adjust the side electrode for inspection and adjustment of the spark plug gap, typically ranging from 0.6 to 0.7 millimeters; 3. When adjusting the gap, bend the side electrode instead of prying the center electrode to avoid damaging the insulator. The function of a spark plug is to discharge the high-voltage pulse electricity sent by the high-voltage wire, breaking down the air between the two electrodes of the spark plug to generate an electric spark, thereby igniting the mixed gas in the cylinder.
