How to Adjust Car High and Low Beams?

There is a light control knob on the left side of the steering wheel. The knob will indicate which direction to turn for the low beams. Simply turn the knob according to the markings to activate the low beams. The lever on the left side of the steering wheel: push it forward to flash the high beams once, and pull it backward to keep the high beams on continuously.
Every time I adjust my headlights, I start by parking about 10 meters away from a wall. Open the hood and locate the two screws behind the headlight—the vertical one adjusts up and down, while the horizontal one adjusts left and right. Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn them carefully without applying too much force. When adjusting, focus on the light pattern on the wall: the low beam should be positioned lower, with the upper limit of the light pattern not too high to avoid dazzling other drivers; the high beam center should align perfectly straight. Turn the screws step by step, testing the lights after each small adjustment until the beam position is just right. Remember to check the actual effect during nighttime driving to ensure the road is properly illuminated. If not adjusted correctly, lights set too high can blind oncoming traffic, increasing accident risks, while lights set too low may fail to illuminate the road ahead sufficiently. Last time, I adjusted them too low, making nighttime highway driving extremely dangerous—I had to redo it later. For beginners, I recommend recording the initial position with a smartphone video before making gradual adjustments—don’t rush. Regular checks are also crucial, as vibrations can loosen the screws; inspecting every six months is ideal. Safe driving relies on these small details.
