How often should the coolant be replaced in a Besturn B50?

The Besturn B50 requires coolant replacement every two years or every 30,000 kilometers. To prevent excessive foaming, which reduces the heat exchange efficiency between the coolant and engine components, ensure the product is within its validity period when adding it. Long-life coolant can remain effective for up to three years. If suspended particles, sediment, or signs of deterioration or discoloration are observed in the coolant, it should be replaced promptly, and the system should be cleaned. How to replace the coolant: Before completely replacing the coolant, conduct a thorough inspection to check for any leaks or cracks in the pipes, with particular attention to the five-way water pipe. The coolant is distributed to various parts of the car through this pipe to perform its function. If there are signs of coolant leakage in this area, replace the water pipe or resecure the connection as needed. Drain the old coolant and then flush the liquid channels with clean water. Add clean water to the coolant reservoir and continue filling until water flows continuously through the engine cooling system. Then, start the engine and let it idle for 3 to 5 minutes to circulate the water. Initially, the water draining from the reservoir may appear slightly pinkish. Continue adding clean water until the outflowing water runs clear. Remember to disconnect the heater hose and drain the water from the heater core. Approximately one hour after draining, add the new coolant through the radiator hose. Then, pour another container of coolant into the coolant reservoir until it is nearly full. Start the engine and let it run for about 10 minutes. During this time, the coolant level will drop slightly as air is purged from the system. Top up the coolant to the "MAXT" mark on the reservoir.
As an owner of a Besturn B50 who mainly uses it for commuting, I pay close attention to the coolant replacement interval. Generally, it's recommended to change it every 2 years or every 50,000 kilometers, but I prefer to replace it every 2 years because it degrades and thins over time, which can reduce engine cooling efficiency or corrode internal pipes. When I check it myself, I often use a concentration tester to see if the boiling point meets the standard—if the color turns yellowish, it needs immediate replacement. Failing to replace it on time can easily lead to engine overheating and breakdowns in summer traffic jams, which is quite dangerous. I suggest referring to the vehicle manual or professional advice from the 4S dealership, as driving conditions like hot climates may require more frequent changes. Regular maintenance on this small task can avoid major repair costs and improve driving safety.
