How Often Should Shell Fully Synthetic Engine Oil Be Changed?

Shell fully synthetic engine oil should be changed every 10,000 kilometers or once a year. The method for changing engine oil is as follows: 1. Lift the vehicle, remove the undercover, and place a container with a capacity of about 10 liters below the oil drain plug; 2. Unscrew the oil drain plug, use an air gun to blow for two minutes at the oil filler port, tighten the oil drain plug after draining, and wipe it with a tissue to check for oil leaks; 3. Reinstall the undercover and lower the vehicle, then use a funnel to add new engine oil through the filler port. The functions of engine oil include: lubrication, auxiliary cooling, cleaning, sealing and leak prevention, rust and corrosion protection, shock absorption, and wear resistance. Engine oils are categorized into mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and fully synthetic oil.
I've been using Shell fully synthetic oil for many years, and I feel that changing it every 8,000 to 10,000 kilometers is the most reliable. It depends on your driving habits and environment. If you often drive on highways or in dusty areas, it's best to change it earlier, around 7,500 kilometers. Once I delayed changing it until 12,000 kilometers, and the oil turned black, the engine noise increased, and I ended up spending a lot on repairs later. Don't forget to check the dipstick regularly. If the oil color is dark or the viscosity is off, go for a change immediately. Also, refer to your car's manual. Different models have different requirements. Shell's quality is good, but don't just focus on the brand. It's safer to base it on your actual driving conditions.
