Does Castrol not have 0w20 engine oil?

Castrol does have 0w20 engine oil and it is fully synthetic. The base oil quality of 0w series is generally good. It is quite suitable for high-precision engines in Japanese, American, and Korean vehicles that don't require high high-temperature shear resistance. The downside of 0W-20 grade oil is that it's relatively thin and not suitable for all vehicles. If the kinematic viscosity of this grade's oil is too low, it may lead to oil burning. It has excellent low-temperature performance, capable of smooth startup even at -35°C. Fully synthetic oil has a higher viscosity index compared to conventional mineral oil. With the same oil film requirements, synthetic oil can achieve the target with lower viscosity, whereas mineral oil requires relatively thicker viscosity. Moreover, fully synthetic oil shows minimal viscosity changes with temperature variations, thus maintaining appropriate viscosity in both high and low temperatures to provide proper engine protection. Under the same working conditions, fully synthetic oil also lasts much longer than mineral oil, which is why some oils claim to have a 10,000 km change interval.
I drive a Fit and change the oil myself. How could Castrol not have 0W20? The Edge series has this specification, the one with the black and gold bottle. Last time I bought it at JD Car Care, it was on sale for just over 50 yuan per liter. Actually, many new American and Japanese cars use 0W20 because it has good low-temperature fluidity and is fuel-efficient. But you need to be careful not to buy fake oil—many auto repair shops now use no-name oil in bottles of big brands. Remember to check the anti-counterfeit code and the production date at the bottom of the bottle. Once opened, it's best to use it within six months. When choosing oil, don’t just look at the brand; check your car’s maintenance manual to confirm the specification.
During maintenance, it's common for car owners to struggle with choosing engine oil. Castrol 0W20 is a flagship product, available in both Magnetrol Start-Stop and Edge series. It's a bit expensive at dealerships, selling for over 90 yuan per liter, but Tmall Global often has discounts. Northern car owners are advised to use 0W grades, as they can pump at -35°C. Last time during a Corolla service, the mechanic mentioned this viscosity could save 3% fuel. However, older cars shouldn't use it—vehicles over ten years might burn oil. If you notice excessive consumption, try switching to 5W30 next time.
