Do You Need to Press the Brake When Shifting from N to D Gear?

Shifting from N to D gear does not require pressing the brake. For automatic transmissions, pressing the brake is only mandatory when shifting from P gear to other gears. Switching between other gears does not necessarily require pressing the brake. Especially when the vehicle is climbing a slope, shifting from D gear to a lower gear, the vehicle's speed is already low, and the power is limited. Pressing the brake at this time may cause the vehicle to stop. It is important to note that when switching between D and R gears, to protect the vehicle's powertrain, the brake must be pressed until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. An automatic transmission eliminates the need for the driver to manually shift gears, as the vehicle automatically selects the appropriate gear based on driving speed and traffic conditions.
