Do I need to bring a one-inch photo after passing Subject 4?

For the Subject 4 exam, you only need to bring your ID card; no other items are required. The Subject 4 test paper consists of 50 questions, primarily presented in the form of case studies, images, and animations. The total score is 100, with a passing score of 90. Subject 4, also known as the Subject 4 theoretical test or driver's theoretical test, is part of the motor vehicle driver's license assessment. After the implementation of the Ministry of Public Security's Order No. 123, the Subject 3 test was divided into two parts: the road test and an additional safety and common sense test, commonly referred to as "Subject 4," which assesses "driving ethics." Because this test is conducted after Subject 3, it is commonly called the Subject 4 exam. Officially, there is no such term as Subject 4. If you fail Subject 4, you do not need to retake the previously passed subjects (Subject 1, Subject 2, Subject 3). You can schedule a retake on your own, and no retake fee is required. There are no scheduling restrictions, but the validity period of the driving skills test permit is three years. If the applicant does not complete the test within the validity period, the results of the passed subjects will be voided.
I just passed Subject 4 not long ago, and my personal experience tells me that you must bring a one-inch photo. After the exam, the staff needs to process the driver's license and requires a photo to make the ID. The photo must have a white background, be front-facing without a hat, and cannot be a selfie or an old photo. I didn't bring one at the time, and even though I passed the exam, I had to rush home to get a photo, wasting a whole day and adding unnecessary stress. The driving school reminds applicants to prepare photos during registration, but many people forget. My advice is to visit a photo studio one or two days in advance to take a standard one-inch photo. On the exam day, keep it in a small bag along with your admission ticket and ID card. After passing, you can directly apply for and receive your license without any hassle. Driving home with your new license will feel amazing, saving you from all those trivial troubles.
