The temperature warning light should be given special attention because it is more noticeable and easier to see—it will light up first before the car overheats. Common reasons for overheating include: 1. Insufficient coolant. This should be checked first and is basically the only thing you can inspect yourself. If you are on the highway or in a remote area without coolant, you can temporarily use water as a substitute. 2. A dirty radiator. The radiator has many pores formed by cooling fins, which can easily accumulate debris, sludge, and other deposits, reducing airflow and cooling efficiency.
