You cannot shift directly from second gear to first gear. Although the car is decelerating, you must press the clutch to operate the gear shift. The correct method for shifting from second gear to first gear is as follows: Decelerate Slowly: When downshifting from a higher gear, you must decelerate; otherwise, it may damage the engine. To downshift, first press the brake to slow down. Once the deceleration is complete, immediately release the brake and press the clutch, quickly shifting from second gear to first gear. Especially when the car body shakes, you must quickly press the clutch with your left foot—firmly. Shaking indicates insufficient power, so downshift promptly to avoid stalling. Act Quickly: While pressing the clutch with your left foot, use your right hand to shift gears. Be careful not to look down at the gear lever, as your focus should be on the road ahead. With only one hand on the steering wheel, you must grip it firmly to maintain control. Shift gears swiftly with your right hand. Left Up, Right Down: Control the clutch by lifting it slowly until reaching the semi-engaged position. Then, gradually press the accelerator with your right foot, avoiding excessive throttle. I'm a transmission mechanic with ten years of experience, and I really don't recommend shifting directly from second to first gear. When the car is moving, forcing it into first gear creates too big a speed difference between the transmission gears. The synchronizer can't match the speeds in time, and you'll hear the 'clunk clunk clunk' of grinding gears. If you keep doing this, the synchronizer will definitely wear out prematurely, and repairing the transmission will cost you half a year's worth of fuel money. If you really want to downshift and rev-match, I suggest shifting to neutral first, giving the throttle a quick blip to raise the RPM, and then shifting into first gear.
