As long as the car is not in extreme conditions like being submerged in water, rainy days have no impact. Rainy day maintenance items include: brake system maintenance; wiper system and drainage system maintenance; waterproofing the intake system; interior dehumidification; waterproofing the starting circuit, etc. During the rainy season, the following car maintenance should be noted: Brake System Maintenance: Since brake fluid easily mixes with water, the accumulation of moisture vapor on the brake reservoir can easily enter the brake fluid. The presence of air in the brake fluid, when compressed, can cause brake failure or malfunction. Therefore, after continuous rainy days, it is essential to check the brake fluid and perform brake system bleeding. Wiper System and Drainage System Maintenance: During routine maintenance, promptly inspect the condition of various switches and gears. Also, check the wiper blades and replace them if they fail to clean the windshield effectively. Pay attention to cleaning the drainage channels and holes at the base of the windshield to prevent water accumulation, which could lead to water seepage into the car and potential electrical system failures or damage. Ensure drainage holes are clear to avoid water buildup. Waterproofing the Intake System: While driving, try to avoid waterlogged areas to prevent splashing water, which could wet the air filter and accumulate mud, leading to restricted airflow, reduced engine power, or even severe consequences like water entering the engine through the intake, causing bent connecting rods or engine damage. Interior Dehumidification: After rainy days, expose the car to sunlight when possible, utilizing UV rays, and open all windows to allow air circulation to dissipate moisture inside the car. Waterproofing the Starting Circuit: Due to the humid weather during the rainy season, high-voltage lines in the engine compartment may become damp, leading to high-voltage leakage and affecting engine ignition. Use a dry towel to wipe the ignition coils and high-voltage lines dry, or if possible, use an air gun to blow them dry. (Figure 6)
