Yes, a Scrub Daddy sponge can be used on certain parts of a car, but it requires significant caution to avoid causing permanent scratches. Its primary use should be confined to durable, non-painted surfaces like tires, wheel wells, and heavily soiled interior rubber mats. The sponge's abrasive texture, which comes from its proprietary FlexTexture™ foam that softens in warm water, is too harsh for a car's clear coat, glass, or interior plastics.

The main risk is scratching the clear coat. A car's paintwork is protected by a clear coat, a thin, transparent layer of urethane that is surprisingly soft. Even a "softened" Scrub Daddy can introduce fine swirl marks and scratches known as micro-marring, which dull the finish over time. For any painted surface, a dedicated automotive-grade microfiber towel or a high-quality car wash mitt is the only safe choice.

When it comes to glass, the sponge's abrasiveness can potentially create tiny, hard-to-remove scratches that can distort visibility, especially when driving into sunlight. For interior surfaces like the dashboard or touchscreens, the risk of scuffing soft-touch plastics is high.

If you choose to use it on tough, non-sensitive areas, ensure the sponge is thoroughly cleaned of any debris and fully softened with warm water. However, for the vast majority of car cleaning tasks, purpose-built automotive tools are a safer and more effective investment.

I tried it once on my bumper to get off some bug splatter. It worked, but later in the sun, I saw a bunch of tiny new scratches right where I scrubbed. It's not worth it. That sponge is just too rough, even when it feels soft. Stick to the soft, fluffy microfiber towels you get in the auto parts store. They’re cheap and won’t ruin your paint.

From a detailing perspective, the Scrub Daddy lacks the necessary gentleness for automotive finishes. Its material is designed for kitchen grease, not automotive clear coat, which is surprisingly delicate. The potential for inflicting swirl marks is significant. For a truly clean and scratch-free result, invest in a high-pile microfiber wash mitt and a two-bucket washing method. Proper tools preserve your car's value and appearance.

It's a clever idea for tough grime, but I'd be very selective. I might use one on the gross, textured plastic in the wheel wells or to scrub the groves in my all-weather floor mats. I would never, ever take it near the car's painted body or the windows. For those, you need the softest cloths you can find. It's all about using the right tool for the specific surface to avoid any damage.

Think of it this way: you wouldn't use steel wool on your sunglasses. A car's paint is similarly delicate. The Scrub Daddy is an abrasive tool, and while it might seem fine for a one-time clean, you're likely creating microscopic scratches that will make the paint look dull over time. It's a shortcut that ends up costing you more. Spend a few dollars on a proper car wash sponge or mitt; your car's resale value will thank you later.

Is the spark plug continuously working during engine startup?

During engine startup, the spark plug is continuously working. Its working principle involves generating an arc between the electrodes through voltage to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder, thereby maintaining the normal operation of the engine. The function of the spark plug is to discharge the high-voltage pulse electricity delivered by the high-voltage wire, break down the air between the two electrodes of the spark plug, and generate an electric spark to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. Automotive spark plugs are categorized into: 1. Standard spark plugs: The insulator skirt is slightly recessed into the shell end face, and the side electrode is outside the shell end face; 2. Insulator-protruding spark plugs: The insulator skirt is longer, protruding beyond the shell end face; 3. Fine-electrode spark plugs: The electrodes are thin, characterized by strong sparks and better ignition capability.

What kind of oil should be used for Volkswagen Tharu?

Volkswagen Tharu uses 5w-40 or 0w40 fully synthetic original engine oil. For later maintenance and oil changes, you can choose from brands such as Mobil, Shell, and Castrol. Any 40-viscosity oil that meets Volkswagen's 502 certification can be used. For Volkswagen Tharu 1.4T and 2.0T models, 5w-40 fully synthetic oil is recommended. The viscosity of engine oil changes with temperature, so special attention should be paid to its performance under both low and high temperatures. For example, in 5W-30, the first number indicates low-temperature fluidity—5W means it can withstand temperatures as low as -30°C. The smaller this number, the better the low-temperature fluidity, making cold starts smoother. The latter number represents the oil's kinematic viscosity at 100°C. A higher number means the oil can maintain its viscosity index better at high temperatures, which can also be understood as better lubrication performance under high-temperature conditions. The method for changing the oil in a Tharu is as follows: Wait for the engine temperature to drop, allowing the oil to flow back into the oil pan; Use a wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and place an oil pan underneath to catch the old oil until it stops flowing. Start the engine for about 30 seconds to allow the oil in the main oil passage to drain out; Use a specialized wrench to remove the oil filter; Apply oil to the seal of the new oil filter and tighten it clockwise by hand; Add new oil through the engine valve cover filler port, typically filling about three-quarters of the oil container; Start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes, checking for leaks around the oil drain plug and oil filter. If there are leaks, perform necessary repairs; After stopping the engine, pull out the oil dipstick to check that the oil level is within the standard range.

What to Do When BYD Qin Fails to Start?

The main power switch is not turned on. This switch is usually located in the cockpit and it cuts off all low-voltage power to the vehicle. It needs to be turned on. The auxiliary battery is severely depleted. In this case, simply charge the auxiliary battery or jump-start it using another vehicle. Check if there is poor contact at the positive and negative terminals of the auxiliary battery or if any wiring harness has come loose. You can manually inspect and reconnect them if necessary. You can also check if the starter battery is faulty. If it has been in use for 4-5 years, it may need to be replaced.

Why does the Haval H6 experience jerking during acceleration?

Haval H6 experiencing jerking during acceleration is due to driving habits and the type of transmission fluid. Below are the details for these two situations: Caused by driving habits: When accelerating at low speeds, the issue may arise from pressing the throttle too aggressively, leading to higher RPMs. Visit a 4S shop for inspection: If it's not due to driving habits, it is recommended to visit a 4S shop for a check-up, especially concerning the transmission fluid. Issue with the type of transmission fluid: Another factor to consider is the type of transmission fluid. If the vehicle has had its transmission fluid replaced at a private repair shop, the problem might be due to using incompatible transmission fluid.
