The Qin Plus DM-i cannot be used without charging. This vehicle requires charging to achieve an ideal usage cost and to leverage its advantages as a super hybrid. Taking the Qin Plus 2021 EV400KM Luxury model as an example, its dimensions are 4765 mm in length, 1837 mm in width, and 1515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2718 mm. The body structure is a 4-door, 5-seater sedan with front-wheel drive. In terms of power, the motor has a total power output of 100 kW and a total torque of 180 Nm. For the suspension, the front suspension uses a MacPherson independent suspension, while the rear suspension employs a multi-link independent suspension.
When I first got my Qin Plus DM-i, I was quite nervous, worrying that finding charging spots would be a huge hassle. But after a year of driving, I found it works perfectly fine as a gasoline car—not charging it at all doesn’t cause any issues. For my daily commute, I just rely on fuel, and the system automatically balances the hybrid mode, keeping fuel consumption stable at around 5.5L/100km, which is much more efficient than a pure gasoline car. Long trips are even more worry-free, as it runs directly on fuel while the engine also tops up the battery a bit. Charging occasionally is of course more economical, but even when I’m too lazy to plug in, the car runs just as smoothly. The flexibility of this car is fantastic—no range anxiety, making it ideal for someone like me who travels frequently for work. The battery management system is smart, so even if you don’t charge for a while, it won’t cause major issues. Just remember to get regular maintenance to prevent minor problems from piling up.
