Vehicle annual inspection cannot be delayed. The annual vehicle inspection must be completed within the specified time frame. Late inspections will result in fines and penalty points. According to Article 47, Section 4 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," driving a motor vehicle on the road without undergoing the required safety technical inspection will result in 3 penalty points and temporary vehicle seizure. Article 49 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations" clearly states: The owner of a motor vehicle may apply for an inspection compliance mark at the vehicle registration office within three months before the expiration of the inspection validity period. Before applying, the owner must resolve all traffic violations and accidents related to the vehicle. The consequences of failing to undergo the annual inspection on time include: Vehicles that have not undergone the annual inspection cannot be driven on the road; driving a vehicle without timely inspection will result in 3 penalty points and a fine; if an accident occurs involving a vehicle that has not undergone inspection, the responsible party will bear full or primary liability, and the insurance company will not compensate; driving without timely inspection constitutes illegal operation and may lead to vehicle seizure; according to the "Compulsory Scrapping Standards for Motor Vehicles," if a motor vehicle fails to obtain an inspection compliance mark for three consecutive inspection cycles after the expiration of the inspection validity period, it will be forcibly scrapped.
Never delay your car's annual inspection by even a month. With over a decade of driving experience, I’m sharing this firsthand reminder. An expired inspection is a violation—getting caught by traffic police often means a fine of 200-300 RMB, possible points deducted, and extra hassle for your already busy license. Worse yet, insurance won’t cover accidents if your inspection is overdue, leaving you to pay for repairs or face massive losses. My advice: mark the inspection date early, set a phone reminder, and book an appointment to avoid peak times. Don’t procrastinate—safe driving lies in the details. Check lights and brakes to ensure road safety. A one-month delay is too risky—act now, don’t wait.
As a new driver who bought a car last year, I wondered if the annual inspection could be postponed. Never try to delay it for even a month—the regulations are strict. Not only will you face fines for overdue inspection, but you'll also get penalty points and have to go through the hassle of making them up. It's a real headache. Your insurance also becomes invalid, meaning you'll be fully responsible if you get into an accident. Being cost-conscious, I set a reminder half a month in advance and went to the inspection station early. Checking the vehicle's condition, ensuring the brakes and lights are solid—that's how you drive with peace of mind. Delaying by a day might seem harmless, but a month is absolutely out of the question. Safety first—don’t cut corners to save time. A new car, a new dream—timely annual inspections are key.
