Can Car Chrome Trim Be Re-Chromed?
1 Answers
Car chrome trim cannot be re-chromed. For rusted chrome trim, the following repair methods can be used: Toilet cleaner: Using toilet cleaner requires less effort and delivers decent results, basically restoring the brightness of the chrome trim. Carburetor cleaner: Carburetor cleaner can remove stubborn stains like oil and adhesive residues. However, be aware of its strong corrosive properties, which can also affect the car's paint. Therefore, avoid spraying it on the car's paint during application. Since carburetor cleaner is not very viscous and doesn’t adhere well to chrome trim, multiple sprays may be necessary. Metal polish: Metal polish is highly effective at removing rust from most metal materials. WD-40 Multi-Use Product: WD-40 has strong surface affinity and permeability for metals, penetrating deep into metal pores to 100% eliminate moisture and humidity. It forms an ultra-thin, dense protective film to block moisture and air, effectively solving metal rust problems "from the inside out."
