Can BYD Charge Outdoors in the Rain?

BYD can charge outdoors in the rain. All pure ports have excellent waterproof designs, so charging outdoors during rain is possible. However, even though charging is feasible, appropriate protective measures should be taken to prevent the risk of electric leakage. During heavy rain, it is advisable to use an umbrella to cover the exposed charging port, and inserting it into the charging port can provide some waterproof effect. For some models where the charging cable can be separated from the charging pile, when charging in the rain, first connect the cable to the vehicle body and then to the charging pile. This will avoid direct electrical connection between the plug and socket in the vehicle body to prevent electric shock. Charging piles have certain rainproof and waterproof measures, offering some protection against rain both during charging and when idle. As for the charging plug part on the vehicle body, it will also have some rainproof effect once the plug is connected. When parking, try to choose a higher ground position. If parked in a low-lying area, prolonged water accumulation may cause the battery or charging port to be submerged in water. Check the charging gun to ensure there is no water or debris inside, and make sure the charging gun and charging port are in full contact for normal charging. After charging is completed, promptly cover the charging port lid when removing the charging gun from the vehicle body.
