Head-up display systems can be installed afterwards. Additional information is as follows: 1. The function of a head-up display: Its function is to project important driving information such as speed and navigation onto the windshield in front of the driver, allowing the driver to see crucial driving information like speed and navigation without having to lower or turn their head. 2. Design objectives: The driver-centric design aims to make it more convenient for the driver to view the car screen and operate knobs while driving; blind operation is intended to minimize the driver's need to divert their gaze from the road ahead; displaying navigation information on the multifunctional dashboard helps reduce the driver's attention shift when checking navigation. In short, the common goal of these features is to prevent the driver from constantly looking around and to keep their focus on the road ahead.

It is feasible to install a head-up display (HUD) as an aftermarket accessory. Based on my research, you generally need to purchase a HUD device that connects to the OBD port to obtain information like vehicle speed. The installation process is quite simple: first, attach the device above the dashboard, then route the wiring to the OBD port under the steering wheel. Note that the angle of the windshield may affect the reflection, so a specialized reflective film might be necessary. It's best to choose a model with brightness adjustment to avoid glare during nighttime driving. Prices range from a few hundred to over a thousand, but a basic model is sufficient. After using it for half a year, I find it quite convenient for driving, but remember to clean the device regularly to prevent dust from blurring the display.

Heads-up display can be installed afterwards, I've done it myself. The key is to choose the right device compatible with your car model, don't cheap out on no-name brands. During installation, mainly remove the trim panel below the steering wheel, and be careful not to obstruct the accelerator pedal when connecting the OBD power cable. For cars with highly curved windshields, it's recommended to choose a curved reflective film, otherwise ghosting will be severe. The biggest benefit in daily use is not having to look down at the instrument panel on highways, and the projected navigation arrows are particularly practical. However, the device is prone to overheating and crashing after summer sun exposure, so it's best to use a sunshade when parked.

Installing a HUD is no problem. I use a clip-on HUD that attaches directly to the dashboard without damaging the car. Installation is just three steps: plug into the OBD port, adjust the position, and stick the reflective film. A cheap one can be done for two or three hundred yuan, displaying speed is sufficient. But projection brightness is crucial; if it's too dim on sunny days, it'll be hard to see. Also, don't spray glass cleaner directly on the windshield after applying the film, as it can leave water stains that affect the display. It's not really necessary for city commuting; its advantages are more apparent on long drives.

Adding a HUD (Head-Up Display) as a later upgrade is completely feasible. I recommend a split-type device where the main unit is hidden in the glove compartment, leaving only the projection lens exposed. Installation requires removing the side panel of the center console, and connecting to the CAN bus for data reading, which is more stable than OBD. If the windshield comes with a wedge-shaped layer from the factory, no additional film is needed. Be sure to choose a model with anti-glare functionality to avoid glare when entering or exiting tunnels. The most noticeable benefit after installation is not having to look down at speed limit signs at intersections, but the projection may fade in rainy or foggy conditions. It's advisable to have it installed by a professional shop, as DIY attempts may easily trigger fault codes.
